AGOGE programming & Open WOD competition

Benchmark 1x per week 


Starting February 1st, I will program a Benchmark WOD on Wednesday of each week.  If you miss a Wednesday class, you can make up the Benchmark during another class that week (just inform the coach that day).  I will send the week’s Benchmark WOD along with the programming each Monday.


CrossFit Total 

We are currently in the 1st week of the 4th cycle of Wendler.  Starting Monday February 22nd, we will begin retesting our 1RM’s for Back Squat (Monday), Strict Press (Wednesday) and Deadlift (Friday).  I will not program a full WOD for those days, so you can spend the available time on the lift — but may post a shorter WOD to run through if you finish early. 
If you have added Bench Press to your Wendler programming please try to fit it in on Thursday’s or talk with me about Saturday’s.


CrossFit Open Competition begins March 11

The link above has everything you need to know about signing up for this year’s OPEN WOD competition. There are a lot of changes which make it easier for anyone to compete at their current level of fitness. AGOGE update

We are BACK in the gym and operating in a COVID-safe manner! 


The new state guidelines allow us to have classes of up to 10 athletes in our 5,000 square foot space.  The state’s intention is to ensure plenty of air flow among participants — which our space does nicely with its 24′ ceiling, rollup door, and ceiling fans to maintain circulation.  FYI, we know of no Agoge member or visitor who has had COVID to date!


SCHEDULE

Schedule is here.  (Note that I will add a 5:30pm T/TH class, starting 2/8/21.)  You must pre-register for all classes no later than 2 hours prior — except in the case of the 6 am, for which you need to register by 8 pm the night before.  If zero people register for a class by these deadlines, then that class will be canceled.  (I need to give my coaches at least 2 hours notice if a class will be canceled, so please don’t wait until the last minute or you may miss the class.)


TO RESERVE OR CANCEL A CLASS

From the website, click on the desired class time, login and then click the “Reserve” button.  To cancel a reservation, click on the class, login and click “Cancel“.     ORIf you have problems with the above method — or just want greater convenience — download the Zen Planner Members App on your phone (Android link, iPhone link).  Then it’s just a click of a button to “Reserve” or “Cancel”.  


CLASS LENGTH

The state currently limits class length to 45 minutes. I will start classes right on the hour, so please try to arrive on time.  Also, due to the shorter class time, please try to do mobility at home either before or after class.  (Mobility is part of the daily “At-Home/Gym WOD” email that I send to members.)


FUNDAMENTALS

If you have friends who want to get back in shape, but are intimidated to jump right into CrossFit — or if you’ve been gone a long time and want to ease back in — please tell them about our 2-week Fundamentals class.  This class will teach proper form & technique, and provide a head-start on conditioning before they join regular group classes.  Next Fundamentals class starts Monday, Feb. 1st.  Sign up here.


PERSONAL TRAINING

If you are not quite ready for a group training environment, I also offer Personal Training.  This way it’s just you and me in the gym during your scheduled time, and the work begins at your level of fitness.  I’ll develop individualized programming to meet your needs and improve your strength, conditioning, and overall health.  Or if you prefer to work out at home, I also offer online Personal Training via FaceTime or Zoom.  Please email or call me if interested.

AGOGE re-opening on Monday Jan 11th

I hope this finds you well and excited to get back in the gym!  The state has given us the go-ahead to re-open our doors on Monday, January 11th.

EQUIPMENT return: I will block off the following hours for return. If you need other times, email or text me: Saturday: 1-4pm, Sunday: 3-5pm.
Please let me know when you will be dropping off equipment. Please wait to clean all equipment until you get it inside  the gym.
