CardioFit – Agoge’s version of a CrossFit Boot Camp
If new to CrossFit, you can start with our new CardioFit Boot Camp. This class will teach key skills and movements to ensure your success when deciding to join CrossFit group classes.
What is CardioFit: Cardio-based FUNctional fitness backed by the principles of exercise science, along with CrossFit’s exceptional strategy of constantly-varied high-intensity functional movement.
What is it designed to do: Keep your heart at or above “aerobic threshold”, which boosts your metabolism to burn extra calories and fat while strengthening muscles throughout the body at each workout. Move in all 3 planes-of-motion to exercise muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones so that your resulting fitness is functional, i.e. useful in every day life and in extending your lifespan and health.
CrossFit is a highly effective regimen of continuously-varied functional movements, executed at high intensity. It delivers a fitness that is — by design — broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is in “not specializing“. Combat, survival, sports and life in general tend to reward this kind of broad-based fitness. As a means of enhancing overall health and slowing the debilitating effects of aging, CrossFit is unsurpassed. The CrossFit program is highly scalable, making it perfect for any committed individual regardless of age or experience. The needs of Olympic athletes, teenagers, housewives and elderly grandparents differ by degree — not by kind. We scale load and intensity, but do not change the program. Try a Free Class or Sign up for our “Unlimited mo to mo” membership.
The Olympic Lifts: Snatch, Clean, Jerk and Squat are for anyone who wants to improve their body composition (lose fat and build muscle), increase speed, jumping ability, flexibility, over all power and strength. These skills transfer over very well to CrossFit workouts and movements. We offer Olympic Lifting 2x/week – Sign Up. Or you can Sign Up for our “Unlimited mo to mo” membership and get both CrossFit & Olympic Lifting.
If new to CrossFit, you can also start with Personal Training. This would consist of 1 on 1 training sessions with an Agoge coach. The number of sessions is based on the individual, but typically 2-3 sessions. You pick a few days and times that work best for you and we will fit the training into your schedule as best we can. Contact Kathy with days and times or use the appointments tab.
We also offer personal training as an alternative to group classes. This may be appropriate if you have specific goals (e.g. training for a sport), a schedule that conflicts with group class hours, or health issues that require workouts to be more carefully tailored to your needs. Sign up, then schedule your Appointments. Special rates are available if you want to do personal training with one or more friends or family members (contact Kathy for details).
